Sometimes I even look for videos on the internet to see that stage again”. These are the words of Fabio Aru in remembering the success in the beautiful penultimate stage of the Giro d’Italia 2015.
Since that day, the Sardinian climber dell’Astana, that is preparing his first Tour de France with his teammates of Astana Pro Team in Sestriere, also returned to Colle delle Finestre, where it all started: “Last summer when, I was training for the Vuelta, I did the whole climb. This year, however, I rode just the first part of it, but definitely it remain in my heart. ”
And you amateurs can experience the same emotions of the Knight of the Four Moors by subscribing to Granfondo La Marmotte Colle delle Finestre – Sestriere which will start and end in Sestriere, with the option to choose between the long route (117.7 km with 3200 vertical meters ) or Medio Fondo (93 km with 2400 meters of altitude). In both cases, participants will have the opportunity to climb the legendary Colle delle Finestre: 18.5 kilometers, of which the last 7.8 dirty road.
